The Technology Development Board has signed a ₹116 crore funding agreement with Navi Mumbai-based Manastu Space Technologies for satellite and launch-vehicle propulsion development, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced on 26 October. The support comes through the Research Development and Innovation Fund as optionally convertible debt.
The ministry puts the total project cost at ₹277.63 crore. Its announcement describes a propulsion family covering thrust from 5 millinewtons to 300 newtons, using a hydrogen peroxide-based propellant with additives.
The planned work includes engines, propellant feed systems and a ceramic catalyst. The programme aims to move from Technology Readiness Level 6 to Level 9 through engineering, integration, testing and validation, according to the announcement; reaching that target remains future work.
The ministry states that Manastu has already demonstrated its propulsion technology in space. That statement does not establish that the complete planned propulsion family has reached the programme’s final readiness target.
The release documents an agreement to provide support, without stating whether any money has been disbursed. It gives no repayment or conversion terms, customer commitments, development completion date or schedule for further flight validation.
