TakeMe2Space targets October 1 launch for MOI-1A

TakeMe2Space is targeting October 1 for MOI-1A on SpaceX's Transporter-18 rideshare, Reuters reported on September 28. The Times of India also reported the date. It narrows the no-earlier-than-October window described by ThePrint in May. The Hyderabad company's replacement spacecraft is still awaiting launch.

TakeMe2Space told Reuters it had signed 23 customers for the mission, including geographic information system businesses and educational institutions. Founder and chief executive Ronak Samantray said commercial users span agriculture, mining, supply chains and insurance. Reuters named U.S. space-data firm Little Place Labs among them; its report did not publish the contracts or identify all 23 customers.

MOI-1A weighs less than 50 kilograms and carries Nvidia Orin NX processors, Reuters reported. Samantray described a service in which customers upload AI models to process imagery during an orbital pass and receive analysis rather than the full raw data set. That service is planned for this spacecraft; it has not yet flown or begun customer operations.

MOI-1A replaces MOI-1, which was lost in the January 2026 PSLV-C62 launch failure, according to ThePrint. Reuters reported that a hosted technology demonstrator flown in late 2024 had validated application uploads and AI inference in orbit. The October 1 flight and subsequent customer processing are the next outcomes to verify.
