IAN Alpha Fund announced on October 13, 2026 that it had led a ₹27 crore funding round in ThinkMetal, with participation from 3i Partners and existing investors. The announcement describes the financing as support for the company's precision-manufacturing business; it does not disclose a valuation.
ThinkMetal lists its address in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. IAN Group identifies space, aerospace and defence among the sectors served by its manufacturing technology. The announcement does not name a space customer or assign a share of the capital to space applications.
The company's website describes SistemT1 as a metal additive-manufacturing system: it builds parts from filament in layers before a furnace removes binder and fuses the metal. ThinkMetal pairs the system with its FuseX materials and Thinkware software.
According to IAN Group, the new money will support product development, materials research, hiring and wider industrial adoption. The investor describes a move from enterprise pilots towards larger commercial deployments; the announcement sets no dated deployment target.
