SES plans JioStar satellite distribution across India under new deal

SES and JioStar announced a multi-year agreement on September 21, 2026, to distribute JioStar’s television channels across India and the Indian subcontinent through the IS-20 satellite. SES’s release describes a transition of JioStar’s broadcast services to that satellite.
Under the agreement, SES will supply satellite distribution to cable, direct-to-home television and broadcast distribution networks. JioStar’s head of technology and media operations, Rajat Nigam, described the partnership in the release as a way to expand the broadcaster’s reach.
The announcement does not disclose the contract value, exact duration, channel list or migration timetable. It establishes the distribution agreement and planned service transition, without confirming that migration of the channels is complete.
