South Korean satellite company TelePIX announced a satellite AI service contract with Bengaluru-based SkyServe on September 28. Chosunbiz and Seoul Economic Daily reported that TelePIX plans to remotely upload AI applications and Earth observation models for SkyServe’s customers to satellites and supply the onboard computing needed to run them.
The companies are considering starting with one model and later expanding to more than six, according to both reports. TelePIX described the arrangement as its first overseas commercial service using its satellite software-update technology. The reports do not identify a customer model already deployed under this contract, a launch or activation date, or the contract value.
SkyServe provides software for running Earth observation models aboard satellites, while TelePIX develops onboard processors and software-update technology. Under their reported contract, TelePIX would load SkyServe customers’ models remotely. The arrangement describes a future service rather than an operational customer deployment.
TelePIX also attributed a potential reduction in transmitted data to processing imagery aboard satellites rather than sending all raw imagery to Earth. That is a company performance claim, not a measured result of the SkyServe contract. The next verifiable step is deployment of a customer model and a reported operational result under the new arrangement.
