NASA astronaut Anil Menon posted a video of a green aurora viewed from the International Space Station on October 10 at 21:42 UTC, or October 11 at 03:12 IST. The public X post shows a bright band of atmospheric light beside station hardware.
Menon described the view as following significant solar activity. NDTV’s October 12 report identifies the green aurora and links to his original video. The post provides a visual record of the display, without a measurement of its strength.
Menon was born and raised in Minneapolis to Ukrainian and Indian immigrants, according to NASA’s public biography. The agency records his July 14, 2026 launch for an approximately eight-month station mission; he is also an emergency-medicine physician.
The October 10 post does not identify the ground location beneath the station or give a separate recording timestamp. Its solar-activity description remains Menon’s account, rather than a quantified storm assessment.
