Space Zone India launched its RHUMI Twin mission at Thiruvidanthai on Tamil Nadu’s East Coast Road on 10 October 2026. DT Next reported that two hybrid rockets lifted off simultaneously at 7 a.m. IST; an October 10 SSnews report also documented a launch at the site.
DT Next reported on October 11 that Martin Group had spent more than ₹1.5 crore from its corporate social responsibility funds on the mission. The account describes mission support, without identifying an equity round or a company valuation.
Martin Group’s own September 3 account listed a ₹1 crore contribution to the RHUMI Twin programme. The two sources do not reconcile that earlier contribution with the later reported spending figure, or disclose a breakdown. The figures cannot establish the size of a separate new funding transaction.
The mission was organised by Space Zone India, Martin Group and the United States-based Global Help International Foundation, according to DT Next. It reported that student-developed scientific instruments were integrated into the rockets to collect atmospheric data.
The rockets were intended to test restart and reignition technology. The reviewed launch reports do not publish flight telemetry establishing that the restart worked, an achieved altitude or recovery results. SSnews identifies a launched vehicle as RRR-1, while DT Next names the pair RHUMI 1 and RHUMI 2; the hardware naming remains unreconciled.
Follow-up: Our September 24 report covered the company’s October 10 target, drawn from a September 23 distributed release. The October launch reports establish a subsequent event; the restart-test result remains unverified in the reviewed material.
