The India Meteorological Department has published a November 4, 2026 satellite assessment locating Murasu’s remnant vortex near 17.0°N, 80.1°E, over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining east Telangana. It is based on INSAT-3DS observations at 00:00 UTC, or 5:30 a.m. IST.
Our November 3 report covered an earlier satellite observation that placed Murasu’s centre near 15.7°N, 80.2°E in coastal Andhra Pradesh at 8:30 a.m. IST. The November 4 bulletin describes the system as a remnant and gives its new inland location.
The latest assessment records intense to very intense convection over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, southern Chhattisgarh and southern Odisha. It gives minimum cloud-top temperatures between minus 70°C and minus 90°C for that cloud system.
These are satellite observations at the stated time. The bulletin does not provide a ground-damage assessment.
Update note: This November 4 report follows our November 3 landfall assessment with the new remnant-vortex position.
