ISRO publishes update on EOS-05's final orbit-raising operation

The Indian Space Research Organisation published a September 7 notice saying EOS-05 completed its third and final orbit-raising manoeuvre at 20:57 IST. ISRO said the spacecraft's liquid apogee motor fired for 1,247 seconds and that its estimated orbit after the operation was 34,903 kilometres by 35,884 kilometres.

The agency also said the satellite's health was normal. The notice reports an orbit estimate and the engine operation, but it does not state that EOS-05 has been commissioned, entered imagery service or reached a named operational slot. No independent confirmation of the manoeuvre result was available in the sources reviewed for this article.

The update follows ISRO's September 6 notice that a second manoeuvre had raised EOS-05's apogee to an estimated 35,786 kilometres after a 338.9-second burn. ISRO's mission page identifies EOS-05 as an Earth-observation spacecraft launched by GSLV-F17 into a sub-geosynchronous transfer orbit and as India's first imaging satellite intended for geosynchronous orbit.
