Rocket Lab launches confidential-customer satellite from New Zealand

The company calls Happily Ever Faster its 95th Electron mission and says one Earth-observation satellite reached a 500 km circular orbit. The customer and payload identity remain undisclosed.

Rocket Lab launched its Happily Ever Faster mission from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand at 3:28 p.m. New Zealand Standard Time on September 11. Rocket Lab’s release and independent reporting by Space both describe an Electron launch that sent a single satellite to orbit for a confidential customer.

Rocket Lab said the payload was an Earth-observation satellite placed in a 500 km circular low Earth orbit. The company identifies the flight as its 95th Electron mission and its 16th launch of 2026; Space reported the mission as Rocket Lab’s 16th launch of the year.

Neither record identifies the customer or names the satellite. Space reported that Rocket Lab did not livestream the mission, while Rocket Lab’s September 11 release gives no additional payload details. The public record reviewed for this dispatch supports the launch outcome and orbit description, but not an identification of the customer or spacecraft.
